According to the Government Employees Statistics–2024, there are currently 1,919,111 approved positions in the public sector. Among them, 1,450,891 positions are filled.

This means 468,220 positions remain vacant, which is 24.40 percent of all approved posts — in other words, one out of every four government positions is still unfilled.
